New contract improves safety for first responders and the public by replacing outdated equipment from another manufacturer.

Industrial Scientific, the global leader in gas detection and connected safety, and Municipal Emergency Services (MES), the United States’ largest supplier of personal protection equipment for first responders, secured a $500,000 contract to provide a large state’s Emergency Management Regional Response Teams with a complete gas detection and connected safety solution. The new Industrial Scientific solution will replace outdated and ill-performing equipment, improving safety for first responders and the general public.

Industrial Scientific Radius® BZ1 Area Monitors, Ventis® Pro5 Multi-Gas Monitors, iNet® Now Live Monitoring, and other equipment was selected to give emergency response teams enhanced visibility into gas hazards, both locally on nearby devices and remotely from a command center. With multiple connectivity channels, emergency response teams retain instant visibility into gas hazards, even if a catastrophic event disrupts communication.

“This group is leading the way in adopting connected safety solutions in the fire industry,” said Holly Mazzia, district manager for Industrial Scientific. “These departments now have robust gas detection and connected safety programs that give the power of knowledge and data to every team, from the larger regional response team, all the way down to smaller volunteer fire departments.”

MES, a trusted partner of Industrial Scientific, was selected from a competitive pool to fulfill the order and implement the new program.

“Our sales team worked hand in hand with Industrial Scientific to pull this project together. This program has provided state-of-the-art gas protection equipment, which will protect first responders and help save lives in the communities they are serving,” said Bob Malone, vice president of Carolina sales for MES.
