Gerdau modernizes safety infrastructure with Industrial Scientific’s iNet ® platform and connected safety technology.
Industrial Scientific, a global leader and innovator in gas detection and safety technologies, has partnered with Gerdau, the largest multinational steel producer in Brazil, to significantly improve Gerdau’s operational efficiency and worker safety through the deployment of Industrial Scientific’s connected safety portfolio.
With a vast and complex network of production sites, Gerdau sought to modernize its approach to gas detection, safety data management, and traceability—key components of the company’s broader Industry 4.0 initiatives. As a result, Gerdau launched a pilot program with Industrial Scientific to accelerate digital transformation in its safety systems and improve visibility and consistency.
With a fully launched program now in place, Gerdau has implemented Industrial Scientific’s iNet® platform to enable real-time monitoring, alarm management, maintenance, and data-driven decision-making under a single connected safety platform. The deployment of Ventis® Pro5 personal gas detectors and Radius® BZ1 area monitors further strengthened the company’s safety capabilities, enabling real-time data sharing, wide-area gas monitoring, and proactive alarm response across high-risk environments.
