Aeroqual Expands Air Quality Monitoring with Continuous Benzene Monitoring to AQS 1 and AQM 6

New capability delivers continuous benzene measurement, helping air quality professionals investigate potential sources faster and understand emissions in context.

Aeroqual, a global leader in air quality monitoring, has expanded its monitoring capabilities with the addition of parts-per-billion (ppb) level benzene measurement for the AQS 1 Air Quality Monitor and AQM 65 Ambient Air Monitoring Station. The new module provides unprecedented visibility with benzene measurements every 15 minutes, helping industrial operators, environmental consultants, and regulators identify potential emission sources, investigate events faster, and make more informed environmental decisions.

Benzene is a known carcinogen emitted by a range of industrial sources, making accurate and timely measurement important for organizations managing air quality around industrial facilities and surrounding communities. Traditional sorbent tube or canister sampling requires samples to be sent to a laboratory for analysis, with results arriving days or weeks after an emissions event.

The new benzene module provides a 0–100 ppb measurement range with sub-ppb detection capability using a carrier-gas free technology. Through Aeroqual Cloud, users can view benzene measurements alongside other pollutant and meteorological data, alerts, data visualizations, and wind rose analytics to support source investigations and provide a more complete picture of site conditions.

The compact, low-power AQS 1 can now measure benzene alongside particulate matter, gases, and meteorological parameters, with solar- and battery-powered deployment options for applications such as fenceline monitoring, remediation, wastewater, landfills, and distributed monitoring networks.

For applications requiring broader measurement capabilities, the AQM 65 provides ambient benzene monitoring within a comprehensive multi-pollutant air quality monitoring station able to operate across a wide range of environmental conditions. Customers can measure benzene alongside particulate matter, gases, and meteorological parameters, providing additional context to support urban air quality monitoring, near-source investigations, and mobile monitoring to understand changing air quality conditions across a region.

“Benzene measurements become much more actionable when you can understand them in the context of what else was happening at a site,” says Simon Allen, chief commercial officer and general manager, North America, Aeroqual. “With near-reference measurements every 15 minutes and the ability to view benzene alongside other environmental data, we’re giving customers the information they need to investigate faster, better understand potential sources, and act with confidence.”

With benzene now available across the AQS 1 and AQM 65, customers can incorporate benzene into broader air quality monitoring programs and select the platform and configuration that best fit their site, application, and environmental priorities.
