Daniel Keener Mike Platek
Mike Platek has been with Industrial Scientific Corporation since 1985, starting in the Engineering and Sales Departments. During this time he had the good fortune of assisting in the design of ISC instruments and systems equipment. Later he moved into Training and started his venture of training both end users and distributors alike. He has worked with all of the industries Industrial Scientific services; offering training in instrumentation, confined spaces, and fixed system set-up.
He earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering and came to Industrial Scientific with experience in designing longwall mining and railroad switching equipment. Mike is certified nationally for Firefighter I and in the State of Pennsylvania as an EMT. He holds certification in Hazardous Materials and Confined Space Supervision, and participates in classes for training and safety. He is a volunteer firefighter and serves on his county's hazardous materials team.
As a Training Specialist, his duties include but are not limited to hosting Gas Detection Made Easy classes both in-house and regionally throughout North America as well as at customer locations. He is also tasked with delivering computer based training materials produced by the department and other training materials used in our GDME classes.

Jeremy DaValle
Jeremy DaValle has been with Industrial Scientific Corporation since 2003. He started his employment as a Service Technician, where he estimated and repaired customer's instrumentation. During that time as a Service Technician he also performed Mobile Service for a total of eight months where he traveled to customer sites and repaired their instruments. After Service he moved on to Rental where he prepared instruments that needed to address the temporary need for gas monitoring equipment. Next he served as a Technical Service Specialist where he handled questions regarding gas detection and the instruments themselves. He began his tenure in the Training Department in 2008 and since has conducted many training seminars for many end users and distributors. The training classes conducted have been on instrument operations and maintenance for certification throughout North America. He earned a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from Pittsburgh Technical Institute in 2003.

Laurent Paget
Laurent started as a specialized technician on the production line. He then became in charge of the Measure Emission Department production line (gas detection by laser spectroscopy). Laurent also work for the Depot Repair department before joining the Technical Support and Training EMEA Center in 2008.
Thanks to his various and rich experience, Laurent gained knowledge on all the Portable product range from Industrial Scientific and also from Oldham. He is one of our best specialists on these products and gives customized training to our customers and distributors in Europe.
Since April 2010, Laurent is the Technical Support and Training Specialist for portable instruments in EMEA for ISC Oldham. Laurent provides these sessions mainly on Arras Industrial Scientific site in France, which is the EMEA Head Quarters for the ISC group; as well as at customer locations.

Joe Buckley
Joe Buckley joined the Training Team at Industrial Scientific in August, 2011. Joe comes to us after a career as a Fire Captain and Fire Fighter Instructor for the City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety Bureau of Fire. He has 25 years experience in fire operations and fire suppression. Joe has trained firefighters in fire suppression strategies and tactics, proper use of equipment, and self contained breathing apparatus use. Joe initiated a training program in personal computers and designed lessons for fire fighters to complete incident reports for NFIRS 5.0. He is EMT certified and has training and certifications in Haz-Mat operations, response to terrorism, and responding to all emergency situations.
Joe has a Bachelors of Science degree, a Pennsylvania Professional Certification to teach Health and Physical Education in grades K-12, and Master of Science degree in Psychology in Education, Applied Developmental Psychology. Joe has taught Health and Physical Education classes in the Pittsburgh Public School District.
Joe's responsibilities include the development and delivery of high impact training programs that increase the overall safety and competence of our audience. He works closely with other members of the Training Team to utilize the latest technologies to raise the level of convenience for our Customers while maximizing participation.

Daniel Keener
Daniel Keener has been with Industrial Scientific Corporation since 1999. He started his employment in the Manufacturing Department assembling circuit boards. After eight months he moved in to the Shipping Department and the Warehousing Departments where he spent seven years serving internal and external customers before being promoted to Material Handling Team Leader. He started in the iNet Department in October 2007 where he assisted customers with troubleshooting equipment. This troubleshooting covered everything from calibration, operation, and maintenance of our instrumentation.
While employed at Industrial Scientific Corporation, he graduated from the Pittsburgh Technical Institute with an Associates Degree in Specialized Technology Computer System's Specialist and also a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication and Information Systems.
