Industrial Scientific’s Radius BZ1 is built to detect gas hazards 24/7 without the hassle of elaborate wireless setups and maintenance routines. Radius just works, no questions asked, so your teams can focus on what’s important and be confident that their area monitors are ready for whatever comes their way. In this video series, trainer Jason Fry will introduce you to the Radius BZ1 while reviewing its major features and benefits.
There are nine modules in this training series:
Overview: In this module, we’ll introduce the Radius BZ1 Area Monitor. We’ll briefly talk about the key features of the instruments and how the Radius BZ1 can help you save time, eliminate false alarms, and communicate gas hazards more effectively.
Getting Started: The Radius BZ1 Area Monitor includes the Radius Base and the SafeCore Module. In these videos, we will review those critical components and take a quick look at how they come together to make area monitoring easier than ever.
Settings: In this module, we will look at some of the ways you can customize Radius BZ1 Area Monitors and configure them for use in your application.
Operations: Radius BZ1 Area Monitors feature a large display and easy-to-follow text navigation. In this module, we will take a close look at the home screen and then explore the options that may be available using the instrument’s operation mode.
Intrinsic Safety Power Supply: The intrinsic safety power supply allows you to extend run time from a week to over a month. In this module, we’ll look at how to properly install and use an intrinsic safety power supply.
Alarms, Alerts and Warnings In this module, we’ll discuss the various ways a Radius BZ1 Area Monitors communicate the presence of hazardous gases and reminds you that maintenance needs to be performed.
Maintenance Utilities: Maintenance utilities include bump testing, calibration, and zeroing. In this module, we’ll review how to perform these maintenance utilities manually and using a DSX Docking Station.
Field Replaceable Parts: Radius BZ1 Area Monitors are easy to service. In this module, we’ll demonstrate how to replace a sensor, external dust filters, and speaker grills.
Wireless: Industrial Scientific’s LENS Wireless technology is available with Radius BZ1 Area Monitors, allowing alarms and gas readings to be shared between connected instruments. In this module, we’ll review how to create a wireless network, peer alarms and readings, and other key features that make LENS Wireless an easy-to-use and effective tool for improving worksite safety.
