AirAware

Cl2, CO, H2S, HCl, NO2, NONH3, O2, SO2

Industry proven performance combined with a new, low-profile design make the Industrial Scientific AirAware™ a logical choice for those critical areas that require continuous monitoring but not the environmental protection of an explosion-proof enclosure. Providing discrete monitoring and enhanced aesthetics for more commercial or institutional settings, the AirAwareTM Series is the ideal solution for reliable, low-cost fixed-point monitoring.

The AirAwareTM can be configured to operate as a monitor with local LED display, a controller with onboard relay switching capability, a transmitter with 4-20 mA or ModBus RTU outputs, or as a transmitter with on-board relays. Each configuration is designed to meet your specific indoor monitoring needs. Every AirAwareTM is equipped with electrochemical sensing technology, dual alarm LEDs, a digital display providing real-time readings, push-button operation and a NEMA 4 type enclosure. When alarm conditions are met, low/high alarm visual indicators alert users to gas hazards.

A number of output options are available that allow the AirAwareTM to communicate to external controllers or control external audible/visual alarms. All AirAwareTM units are ModBus enabled for digital communication back to a PLC or DCS system. An optional 4-20 mA output is also available to connect the AirAwareTM to almost any control device. Relays can also be added to turn on fans or warning sirens, or to shut down a process. Standard operating power is 12-24 VDC for the AirAware, while a 120 VAC power supply option is available for convenient plug-in monitoring applications. Configure your AirAwareTM to match your needs, adding options such as on-board audible alarm for maximum attention, or a vanity plate to hide the display. The AirAwareTM is covered by a one-year warranty and carries CSA approval for non-hazardous locations.

On-board Audio and Visual Alarms

Allows for local monitoring and alarming. Comes with on-board audio alarm with user programmable set points. North American version comes with 120 VAC plug of simple installation

Control
On-board Relay Contacts, Visual Alarm

Allows for local monitoring and control of external devices such as alarms, fans etc.

Transmit
4-20 mA Signal, Visual Alarm

Allows for local monitoring with remote connection to a control device such as a controller, PLC or DCS via a 4-20 mA signal

Control Transmit
On-board Relay Contacts, 4-20 mA Signal, Visual Alarm

Ideal for situations where local control of external devices such as alarms or fans. Also allows connection to a control device such as a PLC, controller, or DCS via a 4-20 mA signal
User Customizable Options:

A variety of user customizable options provide enhanced monitoring flexibility

  Alarm Set Points

Allows user to select action point for on-board relays as well as audio/visual alarms

4-20 mA Scale
(Control and Control Transmit)

Allows simple integration to scale 4-20 mA interface with control devices that are already in place
  Audio Enable/Disable

Allows user to enable or disable on-board audio alarm during gas alarm.

  Display (Text or Numeric Data)

Allows user to select ‘Safe,’ ‘Low,’ ‘High’ text display options or actual numeric ppm gas concentrations. Ideal for public environments

  Display (On or Off)

Ideal for locations where a digital display is not desired

  Visual Alarms

Standard feature on all versions. Dual intensity LED visually warns anyone in the general area of a potentially dangerous condition

  Span Gas Value

Allows for automatic calibration with a variety of calibration standards

  Digital Address

For use with digital communication devices (ModBus RTU)

Bump Mode

Allows user to bump test the instrument without activation of local or remote alarming devices. Unit automatically goes back on-line

Audio Alarm Silence

Allows user to silence onboard audio alarm (if activated) during alarm events. Automatically resets

Plug-in Sensor

Allows for easy sensor replacement without special tools or training

Non-intrusive calibration

Easy procedure allows for maximum accuracy with minimal experience. No special tools required.

Alarm and 4-20 mA freeze (Calibration and Programming)

Locks 4-20 mA signal at 3.0 mA while deactivating relay contacts and on-board alarms during calibration. This prevents nuisance alarms from occurring during this time.

Compact Size

18.29 cm x 14.22 cm x 4.06 cm (7.2" x 5.6" x 1.6") allows for a very low profile that can be easily mounted.

Optional Vanity Cover

Allows for discrete monitoring in public environments without displaying gas concentrations. Aesthetically pleasing design is ideal for environments like offices and hotel rooms. Also provides additional splash protection.

Case:

NEMA 4 type, General purpose indoor use. Electroplated for RFI protection.
