Industrial Scientific's 1600 Controller is capable of monitoring up to 16 sensors of digital ModBus RTU channels of either iTrans™ or Digital Transmitters. Using the Industrial Scientific ModBus register set, the 1600 Controller will automatically recognize and configure channels based on the number of sensors attached to the unit; simplifying installation time and costs. A single on-board relay can be used to activate an external alarm device when alarm levels are reached. The 1600 Controller can be programmed to activate up to 16 external ModBus relay modules (available from third party sources). A secondary RS-232 interface is available to connect the controller to larger control systems, PLCs, or DCS systems.

ModBus RTU interface
4800 Controller can be set up as a ModBus Master or ModBus-slave device. As a slave device, the 4800 can communicate back to SCADA, HMI, and PLCs.
   
Up to 72 ModBus input channels
The 4800 controller can monitor up to 72 ModBus devices on a single network. This is in addition to the 8 – 48 analog inputs.
 
   
Relay output cards

Allows control of external alarms, horns, fans, etc.

Large, bright display can be seen from across plant. Display used to set up controller, display channel readings, and alarm notification settings.

   
Independent relay activation

Enables user to tie multiple channels to a single relay, or multiple relays to a single channel.

Allows programming of controller via the telephone.

 
 
Telephone dial out capabilities

In alarm, the controller can call out via preprogrammed telephone call lists, alerting plant engineers of alarms.

 
 
The 4800 Controller is an analog/digital input/output system controller with remote dial out and access capabilities. The base unit consists of a micro-controller with display, modem, AC and phone line surge protection and 24-hour battery back up. A maximum number of 72 channels can be used, however the maximum number of modules (input and output) can not exceed 6 in any combination. Industrial Scientific recommends that a fixed system application survey be completed to help provide the most accurate assessment of your equipment requirements.
